How to Uninstall Avast Without a Password - With Czech basis, the company manufactures Avast anti-virus software and offers a free demo version. If you want to uninstall the free version or uninstall a paid version of Avast to move to another antivirus program (or go without one), there is a convenient way to do it avoiding any kind of password. Avast has a free utility available for download. As with any uninstallation, be careful not to accidentally delete other items of your computer.
Instructions
1. Open the web browser on your computer from the "Start" menu. Go to the page of Avast Uninstall Utility (see Resources).
2. Click the link to download this free utility. It allows you to remove the Avast antivirus program without the need to enter a password or key program.
3. Select "Start," then "Off" to turn off the computer. Once it is off, press the power button to turn it on and then hold down the F8 key. This restarts the computer in Safe Mode. Wait for the computer to start in Safe Mode before continuing.
4. Double click on the uninstall utility to open it. Browse the hard drive of your computer to the folder in which you installed Avast anti-virus. Avast warns that the contents of any file you choose will be excluded and, therefore, do not click a file name unless you are sure that Avast is within it.
5. Click "Remove" when you find the folder containing the file Avast.
6. Restart the computer again. When it restarts, Avast will have been completely removed from your computer.
