1. Find a domain to register. There are millions of places where you can register your own domain. You can visit a site like GoDaddy or DirectNIC to buy a web domain. Use the search function to find a domain that is not registered and that is uniquely yours.2. Select the type of domain you want. There all domains. You can buy com, biz, .us or even .tv. Choose a domain name and extension you want on your website. Add it to cart and checkout.
3. Buy web hosting. Now that you have a domain, you need to find a server. You can usually buy very cheap accommodation in the company where you registered the domain. If you decide to use another provider, you must follow the instructions to change the names of the servers as specified.
4. Install an email program. Many people use Microsoft Outlook as your email client, but you can use any other. You can even use some of the webmail services like Gmail online that let you use the POP3 protocol to download and your own email program for viewing on any computer.
5. Sets the email program. You can usually find the option in the "Tools" or "Options" in your email program menu. Here is where you can configure the program to receive your email. Use your username and password, and the information in your e-mail server (provided by the web hosting company) to configure your email accounts.
6. Check the configuration. Send yourself an email from another account and make sure you can send and receive email fine. In that case, you're ready to begin using your new mail account.
